Understanding students' perceptions can be a foundation for improving teaching methods and motivating students to participate actively in physical activities. <strong>Objective:</strong> This study aims to determine students' perception of the teaching ability of physical education teachers at State Junior High School 1 Sidoarjo, East Java province, Indonesia. <strong>Methods:</strong> The research method used was a survey regarding students' perception of teachers' teaching ability. The instrument used in this study is the Formative Class Evaluation (FCE) questionnaire. This study involved 30 students. Qualitative and quantitative analysis to comprehensively understand students' perception of the ability to teach physical education and health sports subjects. <strong>Result:</strong> The results of the student assessment of PE teachers at State Junior High School 1 Sidoarjo through the overall FCE questionnaire from the indicators include a sizeable average result of 3.00, an average volition indicator of 2.83, an average method indicator of 2.57, while a cooperation indicator of the average is 2.60. With these results, the average overall student assessment of PE teachers of State Junior High School 1 Sidoarjo is 2.78, with a standard score of 5, and is included in the excellent category. <strong>Conclusion:</strong> This research concludes that a PE teacher assessment instrument is needed to implement learning to determine how PE teachers carry out the learning process for their students.</p> 2024-10-14T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Mochamad Ilmi, Joesoef Roepajadi, Suroto Suroto https://journal-fik.um.ac.id/index.php/ijrpesh/article/view/48 Development of a traditional game “engklek” based on numeracy literacy to improve locomotor movements of elementary school students 2024-09-24T03:43:35+00:00 Silvie Roikhatul Jannah silvieesilvie@gmail.com Nur Ahmad Muharram nur.ahmad1998@unpkediri.ac.id Reo Prasetiyo Herpandika reoprasetiyo@unpkediri.ac.id Irwan Setiawan irwansetiawan@unpkediri.ac.id <p><strong>Background:</strong> Locomotor movement is crucial for elementary school students as it enhances their physical development, motor skills, and overall engagement in physical activities. However, the development of locomotor movements among elementary schools has not been associated with literacy and numeracy, so it is necessary to have a traditional game media that contains elements of literacy and numeracy to improve locomotor movements in elementary school students. <strong>Objective:</strong> This study aims to create a product in the form of a literacy and numeracy-based “engklek” game to improve locomotor movements of elementary school students. <strong>Methods:</strong> This study uses the research and development (R&amp;D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of 5 stages: analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate. The subjects of this study were upper-grade students of State Elementary School 3 Watudandang, namely classes IV and V (22 students). <strong>Result:</strong> The results of this study are (1) the percentage of assessment results from material experts is 100% with a very effective category to be used in the application of traditional games “Engklek” based on numeracy literacy; (2) the percentage of media expert assessment results is 100% with a very feasible category to be applied to upper-grade students in improving locomotor movements; and (3) the percentage of assessment results from students is 85% with a very feasible category to be applied to upper-grade students in improving locomotor movements. <strong>Conclusion:</strong> In conclusion, the traditional game “Engklek” based on numeracy literacy is practical and feasible for physical education teachers to use in improving locomotor movements.</p> 2024-10-24T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Silvie Roikhatul Jannah, Nur Ahmad Muharram, Reo Prasetiyo Herpandika, Irwan Setiawan https://journal-fik.um.ac.id/index.php/ijrpesh/article/view/155 Evaluation of the Indonesian student talent identification program 2024-11-01T12:03:25+00:00 Moses Eleazar Ferdinandus betamaluku.areksuroboyo2903@gmail.com Widiastuti Widiastuti widiastuti@unj.ac.id Yasep Setiakarnawijaya yasep@unj.ac.id Oman Unju Subandi oman@unj.ac.id Samsudin Samsudin samsudin@unj.ac.id Iwan Setiawan iwansetiawan@unj.ac.id Muhamad Syamsul Taufik syamsul@unsur.ac.id <p><strong>Background:</strong> Identifying pediatric talent in sports presents significant challenges due to the complex interaction of physical, psychological, and developmental factors. Research shows that traditional talent identification methods often result in low levels of accuracy, complicating the selection process for young athletes. Talent identification programs need to be conducted and monitored regarding their success. <strong>Objective:</strong> The study aimed to evaluate the Indonesian Student Talent Identification Program in 2022. <strong>Methods:</strong> This research uses qualitative techniques with an evaluation approach using the Context model, Input, Process, and Product (CIPP). Data collection methods include questionnaires, interviews, document studies, and observations. There were 34 provinces, and the sample consisted of 4,500 student respondents representing each district and city by random sampling. Data analysis using frequency analysis description. <strong>Result:</strong>&nbsp;(1) Context Evaluation: It has a solid legal and policy basis, and the government's goals and objectives are good, but it still needs to be on target. (2) Input Evaluation: participants, organization, financing, and committee have yet to be well implemented and need to be improved by the development of student talent identification each year. (3) Process Evaluation: Sports match regulations must constantly be updated by the development of the Indonesian Student Identification Program in 2022; the implementation of matches still needs to be adequately maximized.
