EXTRACURRICULAR SILAT BASED ON MOTION CAPTURE ASSISTED BY COMPUTER GENERATED IMAGES (CGI) IN PRIMARY LOW CLASS SCHOOLS
Abstract
The objectives of this research are (1) to study the values of character education in silat learning in elementary school, (2) to make an assessment of movement pattern toward survival movements that can be used for survival for elementary school students, and (3) analysis of the probability of using motion picture tools to train learners to have character values in silat activities to be applicable in everyday life. The research method used is (1) discussion with character education expert about silat values (2) literature review to the literature and (3) participatory observation on silat activities in elementary and community environment. The results of this study (1) the values of character that can be implanted are discipline and the value of the character of prudence in action, (2) movements that can be applied is avoidance and elak to train students to defend themselves and (3) the motion capture device has opportunities for corrections of movements made by learners to be more accurate and directed. Conclusion from this research, character education educator in elementary school with silat can be based on motion capture device. It is advisable to policy makers to apply this tool in a limited way in Primary School with the readiness to apply the technology.
