Mendesain pelatihan mental skills untuk atlet pencak silat pelajar di wilayah Kabupaten Malang

Mental skills adalah seperangkat keterampilan psikologis unggul yang sangat penting untuk prestasi atlet, namun belum ada panduan khusus mengenai bagaimana merancang sebuah pelatihan mental skills sesuai kebutuhan atlet pencak silat pelajar di lingkungan Kabupaten Malang. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bermitra dengan kelas keberbakatan olahraga SMU Negeri 1 Turen dan pelatih pencak silat IPSI (Ikatan Pencak Silat Indonesia) cabang Kabupaten Malang, serta melibatkan 14 atlet pelajar. Artikel ini mendeskripsikan proses pendesainan pelatihan mental skills melalui 3 (tiga) tahap: prosedur assesmen, pendesainan pelatihan, dan pelaksanaan. Hasil asesmen menyimpulkan tiga hal yang menjadi kekhawatiran atlet, yaitu: (1) kepercayaan diri; (2) penanggulangan kecemasan dan energisasi; serta (3) Perencanaan karier masa depan. Hasil tersebut kemudian dijadikan dasar untuk meracang materi pelatihan. Dari kegiatan ini, dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa proses pendesainan pelatihan mental skills dapat lebih tepat guna dan efektif bila didahului asesmen kebutuhan awal.
